An Easy Valentine’s Day Gift: Bacon Chocolates!

The perfect gift idea for that special someone on your list! You can make this recipe in no time at all, and give the perfect Valentines Day gift! Everyone will love these bacon chocolates!

Anyone have plans for Valentine’s Day yet? Every year I struggle with thinking of something to get my husband. What do you buy/make a guy for a holiday about “love” without breaking the bank?! (Sorry hun, that means your $300 drill is out of the running…). The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right?! There are two things that my man’s stomach really likes: bacon and chocolate. So I’ve combined them into a DELICIOUS recipe!

Not only have I made this for my hubby, but I’ve made it for my friend Valentine’s get togethers, and I’ve brought them to work. They ALWAYS disappear. Plus… then you can play, “Taste this and guess what the secret ingredient is!” – no one every guessed bacon! It’s amazing. Just don’t give it to any vegans or vegetarians… lol.

Bacon Chocolates

Yield: 30
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

A delicious sweet and salty snack to share with your loved ones for Valentine's Day!

Ingredients

  • 8-10 slices of maple bacon, cooked
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • sea salt

Instructions

  1. If your bacon isn't cooked, this is the first step. I recommend heating the bacon on a tin foil lined cookie sheet in the oven so that it gets perfectly crispy, without any burning. When bacon is ready, pat it dry and crush it into small pieces (smaller than your silicone mold).
  2. Melt chocolate chips on low heat, stirring often.
  3. Once chocolate chips are melted, remove chocolate from heat and stir in maple bacon pieces.
  4. Spoon mixture into silicone trays. I found heart-shaped molds that were perfect for Valentine's Day!
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt and place in the freezer for a couple of hours until set.
